My wife and I flew SAS from the US to Russia via Stockholm. All in all the flights were very good. The seats were comfortable and the entertainment varied enough to keep us entertained. Te food was not great, and there wasn't a lot of it, but for the price we paid, I guess something was always going to be lacking. All the flights left on time, adn the cabin crew were friendly. Would recommend if you are on a budget, but if you want a luxury trans-Atlantic flight, choose one of the larger cariers.

I flew with SAS to Tokyo as it was cheap. I usually look for the cheapest flights, as I tend to sleep a lot on planes so luxuries such as in-flight entertainment and free food and drink doesn't really bother me. So long as I get there safely. Unfortunately, on this occasion I wish I had paid more. The staff were the most unhelpful and sour faced group I have ever met. The plane itself was fairly new but very cramped and uncomfortable. On the way back the flight was overbooked. After everyone had boarded they announced that there were 3 people too many, and would like volunteers to wait for the next flight. As no-one volunteered they offered a small monetary sum, to try to temp people. I offered to give up my seat if they put me up in a decent hotel and paid for a meal. They refused. It was only after a bout 2 1/ 2 hours, after 3 older people had cracked, that the situation was resolved and the plane allowed to leave. It was some of the worst management I have ever seen, and has put me off SAS for life.
