I have flown regularly on Air Canada from Canada to Frankfurt and Heathrow, and am continually disappointed by the level of service offered. The aircraft interiors are verging on dilapidated. No seat back TV's despite claims to be moving in this direction. If so, it's a snail's pace. Some aircraft require asking for a portable DVD player in business class to watch movies. Seats are lumpy. I've frequently experienced the in-flight entertainment system not working. Staff can be quite rude with no good reason. Overall, Air Canada's service and comfort features fall behind some of the new "budget" airlines operating these days. Thanks to its monopoly on routes between the UK / Germany and Calgary, Air Canada has been able to get away with this poor level of service, however, if you can find an alternative, I would recommend that you use them, and not Air Canada.
